Hey, Dr. Mark, here. What I want to do today is answer some of the most frequently asked questions that I get as a chiropractor – about why your back hurts, why other body parts hurt, and what are the likely causes of these aches and pains. And I’m going to use the simplest of terms to make the answers as easy as possible for everyone to understand. Ready?
Where Dr. Mark Simplifies the Complicated Science of Chiropractic Care for Back Pain
The number one question I am asked is: Why does my back hurt?
The simple answer is: I don’t know.
Another question I often get is: What did I do to make my back hurt?
Now, the answer to that question is a little bit more complicated: I don’t know.
Next, I’m frequently asked: Do I have to come back?
Answer: No.
Near-Mystic Answers to Increasingly Complicated Chiropractic Questions
As you can see so far, the answers to these questions about chiropractic care are truly complex. Don’t worry, though. Even though it gets even more complicated, I’m going to break it down for you.
For example, people also inquire: How many visits it’s going to take before my back feels better?
What do I look like, a fortune teller? Guess what the answer is.
I don’t know.
Additionally, I’m routinely asked: How often should I go to the chiropractor to get my back adjusted?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to that question. Nevertheless, my recommendation is: Come to my office at least three to five times per week, for the next 30 years.
Or until my student loans are paid off.
Whichever comes first.
As we get increasingly complicated, we move on from back pain to leg pain with a commonly heard statement, followed by a question: My leg hurts. Is that sciatica?
The answer to that one is sophisticated: Maybe. Possibly.
We reach the peak of mystic questions about chiropractic with this next one: What can I do so that my back never goes out of place again?
If I had the answer to that question, I would make myself obsolete.
Also, I really would be a mystic. But you still wouldn’t get an answer because I’d be too difficult to reach in my mountain-top cave.
Speaking of obsolete, the last question for today involves people trying to dispense with me all together: Can you give me stretches or exercises that they can do at home to alleviate my back pain?
The answer: Absolutely. But are you really going to do them?
(My extensive experience indicates that answer to that question is, “NOPE.”)
No, Really. I Can Help You Find Answers for Your Back Pain and Other Maladies
Hey! You’ve read this far? Thanks for your interest in my highly educated and scientific answers to your chiropractic questions!
Seriously though, I hope you can see that there are no simple answers to any of these questions. The idea behind this article is that I get asked the same basic questions daily in the office. People are looking for simple answers for issues that are a lot more complicated than they realize.
Every person, patient and condition that I treat is totally different. Just because your uncle’s leg hurt, and he was told it was sciatica doesn’t mean that your leg pain indicates the same diagnosis. Is it possible you also have sciatica? Yes, of course. But until we do some detective work, there is no telling what the problem is.
So, there are no simple answers to these questions. However, I can, in fact, answer them.
Here’s what I’m going to do: Take the questions and answer them in depth, one by one, in their own videos. Follow Levander Chiropractic and Massage on YouTube so you don’t miss out on the important answers to these questions.
